Gordon Takes Entertainment at Wedding Receptions To Heart

Gordon Slagle is the Professional who understands all about “Daddy’s Little Girl,” who brings tears to people’s eyes when daddy dances with his little girl-turned grown-up bride.
Why? Because Gordon is the Gordon of Gordon’s D.J., the guy who really makes the reception.
Deeply involved in his work, Gordon Slagle doesn’t book a reception and then put it out of his mind until the big night
.
He makes it his business to meet with the bride and groom a full month before the ceremony to choose the music and arrange for the performance of all the extra special little things the bride and groom decide they want.
For the owner of Gordon’s who will coordinate the whole event, the extra things are not only the musical selections. They also include making sure the champagne is poured, the wedding cake gets cut, the garter thrown and the bouquet caught.

Everybody expects to hear the traditional tear-jerkers during the reception. Slagle makes sure there are enough of those, but at heart he is a crowd-pleaser who knows weddings are happy occasions
.
His repertoire includes not only the slow romantic mood dances, but also the fun ones like the Chicken, Alley Cat, Electric Slide, etc. Dressed in formal attire, Gordon Slagle gets right out on the floor and does those fun dances right along with the guests. During the fun times, he gives out full-size inflatable guitars, saxophones (move over President Clinton), leis, hats, and sun glasses.

The mood-setting D.J. who gives the bridal couple what they want (is it any wonder he is booked up to a year-and-a half in advance?), has his special overhead colored lighting to set the mood for those who want faster dances and a mirror ball for romantic moods.

“I can give them anything they want, from easy listening music while the guests are arriving, to light jazz for dinner, anything from current to Big Band Oldies. I like to keep things moving. After all, I’m the guy who makes the reception,” he says.
